MeetPositives Ethics Policy

MeetPositives is a dating and community support platform for adults living with STDs. We exist to help people connect without stigma—while protecting privacy, promoting respectful behavior, and reducing harm.
This Ethics Policy explains the standards we aim to uphold as a platform and as a community.
1. Our Core Commitments
We are committed to:
- Dignity and respect for every member
- Privacy and discretion for sensitive personal information
- Safety-first community design, including reporting and moderation
- Transparency about rules, enforcement, and limitations
- Accountability for abusive behavior, scams, and policy violations
2. Adults Only (18+)
MeetPositives is for adults 18 years and older only. We do not permit minors to use the platform. Accounts suspected of underage use may be restricted or removed.
3. Respect, Non-Discrimination, and Anti-Stigma Standards
STD status should never be used to shame, threaten, or control anyone.
We do not tolerate:
- Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or humiliation
- Hate speech or discriminatory attacks
- Threats of violence or encouragement of self-harm
- Stalking, coercion, or repeated unwanted contact
- “Outing” or exposing someone’s health status without consent
We expect members to communicate with maturity—even during disagreements or rejection.
4. Privacy, Discretion, and Sensitive Information
We treat health-related information as highly sensitive. Members should be able to control what they share and when they share it.
We prohibit:
- Posting or sharing another person’s private information (doxxing)
- Sharing private messages, photos, or health details without permission
- Extortion, blackmail, or threats related to someone’s STD status
Important note: MeetPositives does not conduct criminal background checks and cannot guarantee the identity or intent of every member. We encourage members to use good judgment and follow safe dating practices.
5. Content Standards (18+ • No Nudity)
To keep the community safe and compliant with platform standards, we prohibit:
- Nudity and pornography
- Sexually explicit content or sexual acts
- Non-consensual intimate imagery (including “revenge porn”)
- Content that sexualizes minors (immediate removal and potential reporting)
- Sexual exploitation, coercion, or “pressure” content
Violations may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent bans.
6. Consent and Healthy Interaction
Consent is non-negotiable. That includes:
- Respecting “no” and boundaries
- Not pressuring people for explicit photos, sex, or personal details
- Not manipulating someone using guilt, shame, or threats
- Ending conversations respectfully
If you feel unsafe or pressured, we encourage you to block and report.
7. Reporting, Moderation, and Enforcement
We provide tools to help members control their experience:
- Report
- Block
- Privacy controls (where available)
We may use a mix of:
- Member reports
- Human review
- Automated detection for spam/scams/abuse patterns
Enforcement actions may include warnings, feature limitations, temporary restrictions, content removal, or permanent bans—especially for repeat or severe violations.
8. Scams, Fraud, and Financial Solicitation
We take scams seriously and prohibit:
- Requests for money, gifts, wire transfers, crypto, or financial accounts
- Romance scams, “emergency” stories, or pressure tactics
- Impersonation or deceptive identity claims
- Attempts to quickly move members off-platform for suspicious purposes
- Transactional sex/escort promotion
If anyone asks you for money or financial help, report them immediately.
9. Authenticity and Impersonation
We expect honest participation. We may restrict or remove accounts for:
- Impersonation of another person
- Stolen photos or misleading identity presentation
- Coordinated spam, bots, or deceptive messaging behavior
10. Ethical Use of AI and Automation
We may use AI or automation to improve:
- Match recommendations and discovery
- Spam/scam detection and safety signals
- Support workflows and platform operations
We are committed to using these tools responsibly and not to harass, exploit, or deceive members. We do not allow users to use the platform to automate abusive outreach or manipulate others.
11. Not Medical Advice
MeetPositives is not a medical provider. We do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment. For health questions, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.
12. How We Handle Serious Safety Issues
For credible threats, exploitation, extortion, or other severe safety risks, we may:
- Restrict or remove accounts
- Preserve relevant evidence where appropriate
- Comply with lawful requests when required
13. Appeals and Support
If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, you may contact support to request a review. We aim to treat all members fairly and consistently.
